The labyrinth disc type multi-stage pressure reducing valve has a core throttling part composed of multiple metal discs with labyrinth grooves superimposed. The fluid flows through the maze channels and undergoes multiple collisions and turns, consuming energy. During the process of gradually reducing pressure, the flow velocity is also controlled.


It is generally used in special occasions with high temperature and high pressure drop in industries such as nuclear energy and power stations. The working medium is mostly superheated steam, and it can also be used in liquid media. Its characteristics are as follows.



The number of turning stages in the labyrinth flow channel is the pressure reduction stage of the labyrinth control valve, which can generally reach ten to twenty stages. Therefore, the labyrinth multi-stage pressure reduction structure is the one with the strongest pressure reduction capacity among common multi-stage pressure reduction control valves. There are products abroad that can reach up to 40mpa.



2) It has excellent anti-cavitation erosion and noise reduction and vibration damping performance. The multi-stage curved labyrinth flow channel can effectively control the fluid flow rate and prevent adverse phenomena such as cavitation, noise and vibration.



3) By combining different forms of labyrinth discs, the labyrinth control valve can achieve different flow characteristic regulation curves.



4) The manufacturing precision requirements for labyrinth discs are very high. Generally, they are surfacing with Stellite alloy and have a relatively long service life. The installation and maintenance are relatively simple, and the discs are easy to replace.



5) The labyrinth flow channel has a high requirement for the cleanliness of the fluid medium; otherwise, the labyrinth flow channel is prone to blockage.
